We're back from our Summer Break! So excited to be making music together and with 4 new members!

The Alliance Chorus is doing a fundraiser! Our Fall Raffle gives you so many chances to win BIG MONEY during the entire month of September! The more tickets you buy, the more chances you have to win. 📣💈DIRECTOR ANNOUNCEMENT 💈📣 For the last year, The Alliance has had the AMAZING fortune of having Brian O'Dell as our Interim Director. He didn't miss a beat in stepping up to the role, carrying us through a challenging time with unwavering spirit and positivity. Brian, we are extremely grateful for your leadership, spirit, and commitment to our Alliance family the last year.❤️ Beginning Aug. 1st, he will be resuming the role of Associate Director and we are very excited to announce that NATE OGG has accepted the position of Music Director of the Alliance!! 👏🏼 Nate brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role that will be elemental to the continued growth of our organization. We look forward to the future of the Alliance with his leadership on the team!

Happy Member Monday! Today we are highlighting Jake, who sings bass in The Alliance! 💈❤️ Jake Bavarsky (he/him) is a native of New Jersey now living in Columbus. After completing his Bachelors in Mathematics at the University of Connecticut, he moved to Columbus during the Pandemic and now works at Nationwide Insurance doing Data Architecture Engineering. In the Barbershop world, Jake is the Founding Director of Prism Barbershop Chorus, a LGBTQIA+-friendly youth chorus that will be competing in the International Chorus Contest in Cleveland this summer! He is also a MUS Applicant (soon-to-be-candidate this July) where he will aspire to become a certified judge! Outside of his obsession with unaccompanied 4-part acapella music in the Barbershop Style, he is a recently new home-owner, dog dad and an avid unicyclist! Jake's love of barbershop has given him a rich experience. He is a MUS Applicant/Candidate, Director of Prism Barbershop Chorus, Bass Section Leader Alliance, Former Music Educator with HFI at Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility, Former Bass with Home Room Educational Barbershop Quartet, Coach and Arranger. Outside of barbershop, Jake has a dog named Benson who is a Black Lab mix. He's 4 years old. He also loves pickling/fermenting foods and like to unicycle when the weather is hot and not wet :) When asked why he enjoys being a part of The Alliance, Jake said, "I like the Alliance because they're my friends and allow me a musical space to be a leader and help us change lives through music!"

Huge shout out to some of our very own in @mixtapequartet on qualifying for internationals AND Crosstown quartet for their Senior Quartet championship! Of course, we would be remise if we didn't also congratulate our friends (and hospitality room co-hosts) @vocalconfluence on their first-ever District Championship! 💈❤️👏🏼

Delayed Appreciation Post! We had another GREAT coaching session on Thursday, this time thanks to Brandon Rauch from @vocalconfluence for the awesome singing and performance boosts on our contest tunes!

We have some major love to share for our 2023 Barbershopper of the Year - KIM CALLAND! Kim has been a FUNDAMENTAL energy, voice, coordinator, and inspiration to the Alliance this past year... Despite her already busy barbershop life outside of our chorus, she still managed to be our VP of Operations, serve as show chair for every performance, be our visual ("choreo") coach, was a member of the music team, and the list keeps going! CONGRATULATIONS, Kim! We love you, thank you, and can't imagine our chorus without you! 🥳👏🏼💈

We're elated to welcome THREE new members to the chorus (front center): Susie, Kyle, and Leslie! 😄💈 They felt at home from day one and we're so glad to have them. Stay tuned, it looks like we may have some more soon! 😉
