On September 24th, The Alliance had an amazing opportunity to impact the community, and 10 members of The Alliance delivered smiles to participants and volunteers for the Walk to End Alzheimer's Opening Ceremony. Each member represented the organization gracefully, even with a limited turnout of performers. It was a hot day, but no matter— Mark Morris held down the Bass Section for the performance.
Perched at the Columbus Union Station Arch, on the north end of McFerson Commons Park downtown, the members of The Alliance were true ambassadors of the hobby to all passers-by. Along the route chorus members sang tags with a volunteer, cycled through some encouraging, upbeat repertoire, and even got to enjoy the company of members of Hashtag Comedy! The Bass section got by with a little help from David Calland, before Peter Scalabrino was able to rearrange his day to support the cause. All at once, the flury of volunteers and walkers trickled to a stop and the event was over. A few hugs later, every member went their separate ways, spirits lifted from giving.
These opportunities that allow the chorus to give back by doing exactly what we love doing are spectacular! Is there a cause you want to see us support with song? Reach out to [email protected] and let's share some music.
